Lately, I’ve been looking at a lot of sustainable construction, recycled materials, cheap materials, tiny houses, etc. It seems a lot of these ideas/techniques get “tested” on the poor or displaced.
Here are the links to my clippings presentation:
I thought this was an interesting use of the grid:
“The intention is to inspire a new form of interaction via accidental and instantaneous communication, so adding to the charm of life.”
You are all authors, so you should be able to create new posts on the blog without moderation. Posting comments requires moderation. I’ll look into changing this, but until I figure that out, you can create posts rather than comments. Here are some step by step instructions for posting:
1- Make sure you are on the “Building a Better World blog. Select “Dashboard” (highlighted in blue in the image below) from the drop-down menu on the upper left side of the screen.
2- Once you have accessed the dashboard, select “Posts” and then “Add new”, to add a new post.
3- Type your text in the space provided. You may upload images by selecting the “Add Media” tab on the upper left. If you are inserting a link into your post, you may select “Link” from the formatting menu on the right side of the page. Directly below the formatting menu is the categories menu. We currently only have one category for “Clippings”. If you check this box, your post will go into clippings. Otherwise, it will be posted as “uncategorized”. Both of these will show up on the blog roll, but please select clippings if what you are posting qualifies as such (So we may all select the clippings category from the front blog page to access clippings and exclude other posts).
I hope this is helpful!
Thanks to Sean Miller for setting up a place where we can all post things we find that relate to class. Certainly post the “clipping” that you will present to class here, but I also encourage you to add whatever you find relevant. It will be a great collection of things I look forward to following.
